We dramatized the joining of Upper and Lower Egypt. The ruler of Lower Egypt wore a red crown with a cobra on it. Menes conquered Lower Egypt and then the crowns were combined.

Nathan is so proud to finish his first book. He was all done with the set (4 books) by November. Now I need to find something more challenging. hmmmmm He is reading lots of sight words on his own. I have not taught him any formal reading. I did not want to have him start "writing" yet but that is where all the workbooks go. What to do with the little busy boy. He has to do school like the others and will not be tempted into any "educational play". he wants desk work.

Jake and I went on a boy s*couts hike. It was so fun. :) We did not stick with the boy s*couts because it would not fit in our schedule. That was disappointing for Jake. :( Maybe a different year?
